Yogi Adityanath Praises Hathras Social Worker Praveen Varshney's Public Service

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has praised the social work and public service efforts of Hathras-based social worker and human rights activist Praveen Varshney. The Chief Minister sent a letter to Varshney, appreciating his social concerns, commitment to serving the public and efforts to raise the voice of people in need.

The letter was issued from the Chief Minister’s Office at Lok Bhavan, Lucknow, on 2 October 2026. The letter carries serial number 00005968. In it, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wished Praveen Varshney a healthy and happy life.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the wider role played by social workers in a democratic society. He said that the strength of any democratic society grows through citizens who work selflessly for the welfare of society. Social workers act as an important link between the last person in society and the government, and help take people’s problems and needs to the appropriate forum.

The letter also referred to changes in the law-and-order situation in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister said that before 2017, the law-and-order situation in the state was challenging. After the government was formed, the rule of law was given the highest priority and decisive action was taken against criminals.

Yogi Adityanath also mentioned various public welfare schemes being run by the double-engine government to bring positive changes to the lives of the poor, deprived people, elderly citizens, persons with disabilities, women, youth and farmers.

He said social workers have an important role in ensuring that the benefits of these schemes reach the last person in society. Through their field-level social engagement, they help connect people with government programmes and bring the concerns of those in need before the relevant authorities.

The Chief Minister expressed the expectation that Praveen Varshney would continue to use his social engagement and commitment to public service to help ensure that government schemes reach people who need them. He also expected Varshney to continue conveying the problems and suggestions of the public to the government and to play his role in work related to public welfare.

Yogi Adityanath expressed confidence that Praveen Varshney’s spirit of service, sensitivity and commitment to society would further support the development journey of Uttar Pradesh.

After receiving the letter, Praveen Varshney expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Yogi Adityanath. He said that the Chief Minister’s appreciation of his social work was a matter of honour for him and would inspire him to continue serving the public.

Varshney said that he would continue his efforts to protect human rights, promote social justice, help people in need and take issues related to public welfare to the appropriate forum. He said he would remain committed to raising the voice of those who require support and ensuring that matters connected with public welfare receive attention through the proper channels.
