Uttaradi Mutt's 50-Day Chaturmasya Begins in Dharwad on August 8

Dharwad to Host 50-Day Chaturmasya of Uttaradi Mutt Pontiff

Satyatmatheerth Sripadangalavaru, the 41st pontiff of the Uttaradi Mutt, will observe his 31st Chaturmasya Vrata in Dharwad from August 8 to September 26. The event will take place at the newly constructed Mutt in Gopalpur, Malmaddi, which was built on property acquired earlier by the seer to serve the spiritual needs of devotees, scholar Prahladacharya Galgali announced on Saturday.

New Mutt and Consecrated Idol

The Gopalpur Mutt houses the newly consecrated idol of Sri Lakshmi Hayagriva, a significant addition to the spiritual heritage of the Uttaradi Mutt. During the 50-day Chaturmasya period, a series of religious and cultural programmes will be conducted, attracting devotees from across the country.

Daily Schedule and Activities

The observances will include morning Veda classes for students, followed by homas, peace rituals, bhajans, devotional music, and discourses by scholars. Spiritual lectures by scholars will be held every evening, culminating in Amrutopadesha, the pontiff’s discourse, scheduled from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Special Programmes Planned

Organisers R.M. Kulkarni, Sameer Joshi, Hanumanth Kotbagi, and others have outlined a variety of special programmes during the Chaturmasya. These include youth conclaves, scholars’ conferences, medical seminars, Sanskrit Day celebrations, religious workshops, medical camps, classical music concerts, and Dasavani performances.

This Chaturmasya observance holds significance as it combines spiritual enrichment with cultural and educational activities, making it a major event for devotees and scholars alike.
