Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran to Co-Chair Andhra Pradesh Task Force

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced that Tata Sons Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran will co-chair its newly formed ‘Task Force for Economic Development of Swarna Andhra Pradesh @ 2047’. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu revealed the development on Friday, August 16, after a meeting with Mr. Chandrasekaran at the Secretariat.

Task Force to Drive Long-Term Vision

The task force aims to chart a roadmap for the state’s economic growth over the next two decades. According to Chief Minister Naidu, the initiative will bring together intellectuals and industry leaders to shape Andhra Pradesh’s future. "I am delighted to meet my old friend," the Chief Minister shared on social media platform ‘X’, adding that Tata companies have also agreed to partner in establishing the Centre for Global Leadership on Competitiveness in Amaravati. This centre will be set up in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

Discussions on Key Development Projects

During their meeting, Mr. Chandrasekaran and Mr. Naidu explored several potential collaborations. These included the establishment of a Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) development centre in Visakhapatnam, enhancing air connectivity in the state through Air India and Vistara, and partnerships across various sectors. These initiatives are expected to boost Andhra Pradesh’s infrastructure and economic prospects.
