Tamil Nadu transfers 27 IAS officers in major administrative reshuffle

The Tamil Nadu government transferred 27 IAS officers across key administrative positions on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, reshuffling leadership in departments ranging from revenue administration to urban development.

Senior bureaucrats reassigned

N. Muruganandham, Additional Chief Secretary / Commissioner of Revenue Administration and Disaster Management, was moved to Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Small Industries Corporation (TANSI). B. Chandramohan, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, will replace him.

J. Innocent Divya, Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Handloom Weavers' Cooperative Society (Co-optex), has been posted as Secretary, School Education. Dharmendra Pratap Yadav, Chairman and Managing Director of TANSI, is now Principal Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, replacing Prashant M. Wadnere.

District and corporation leadership changes

Sharanya Ari, District Collector of Perambalur, was transferred to District Collector, Virudhunagar, replacing N.O. Sukhaputra, who is posted as Executive Director, Chennai Metro Water and Sewerage Board. F. Abdul Razick, Sub Collector, Ponneri, is now District Collector, Perambalur.

V. Nallasivan, Sub Collector, Chengalpattu, was posted as District Collector, Tirupattur, replacing G. Ravikumar, who is now Joint Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.

D. Mohan, Managing Director of Metropolitan Transport Corporation, was transferred to Additional Secretary, Home, Prohibition and Excise, replacing J. Anne Mary Swarna, who voluntarily retired from service. V.P. Jayaseelan will take over as Managing Director, MTC.

Development corporations and dairy sector reshuffled

Kavita Ramu, Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited, has been posted as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation, replacing Simranjit Singh Kahlon. R. Lilly, Commissioner, Stationery and Printing, is now Secretary, Handlooms, Handicrafts, Textiles and Khadi.

Ajay Yadav, Commissioner, Milk Production and Dairy Development, and Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Cooperative Milk Producers' Federation Limited, was transferred to Commissioner, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, replacing S. Sivarasu, who is now Director, Milk Production and Dairy Development. Sivarasu will also function as Managing Director of the milk producers' federation.

Veer Pratap Singh, Commissioner of Tiruchi Corporation, was transferred to Executive Director, SIPCOT, replacing A. Catherine Saranya, who is now Commissioner, Vellore Corporation. N. Ponmani, Additional Commissioner, HR & CE, Tiruchi Region, will replace Singh as Tiruchi Corporation Commissioner.
