Sources Say Meerut Jail Inmates Muskaan, Ravita Seek Karva Chauth Makeup Items

Preparations for Karva Chauth have begun in the women’s barrack of Meerut District Jail, where inmates Muskaan and Ravita are attracting attention over the festival. The two women are currently lodged in the jail and have become a topic of discussion as arrangements for Karva Chauth get underway inside the prison.

According to sources, Muskaan and Ravita have asked the jail administration for bangles, bindis and other make-up items. After this demand came to light, enthusiasm for Karva Chauth has also been seen among other women inmates in the jail.

The Sanjeevani Mahila Sanstha is making special arrangements for the women inmates this year as well, as it does every year. The organisation is providing them with puja thalis, karwas, mehendi, bangles, bindis, sindoor and other make-up material.

The arrangements are being made so that the women inmates can observe and celebrate the festival inside the jail. The materials being provided include items used for worship as well as traditional Karva Chauth preparations.

However, there is still no official confirmation on whether Muskaan and Ravita will keep the Karva Chauth fast. This remains the main question surrounding the preparations involving the two inmates.

Jail sources said that the two women have only asked for make-up material so far. According to the sources, they have not yet taken a final decision on whether they will observe the fast.

The jail administration has said that, under the rules of the jail manual, all women inmates are allowed to keep the fast and perform puja. The administration said that women inmates are given religious freedom during festivals and are allowed to offer prayers while following security arrangements.

A special puja will be organised in the women’s barrack on the day of Karva Chauth. The jail administration will also make arrangements for the women inmates to see the moon in the evening. These arrangements will allow the festival rituals to be conducted inside the jail under the administration’s supervision.
