A grand cultural programme was organised by Utthan Samiti Group Sambhal on the occasion of the Karwa Chauth festival. Women dressed in solah shringar, the traditional sixteen forms of adornment, took part in the celebrations. Ruchi Arya was named the Karwa Chauth Queen.

The programme was inaugurated jointly by chief guests Deepa Varshney and Lakshmi Varshney by lighting the ceremonial lamp. Ganesh Vandana was presented after the lamp-lighting ceremony, marking the formal beginning of the event. The atmosphere was filled with happiness, enthusiasm, harmony and the colours of traditional culture.

Women arrived dressed in traditional red outfits, sarees and lehengas. Their mehendi, sindoor and bangles added to the festive atmosphere. Their traditional attire and decorations brought together the cultural and modern aspects of the Karwa Chauth celebration.

During the programme, women presented several dance performances on stage. Everyone joined in the celebrations and danced to the beats of dandiya. Entertainment games, a question-and-answer session and a ramp walk were also organised. Women participated enthusiastically in these activities, displayed their talents and shared the joy of the occasion.

The programme also featured the lighting of the lamp by chief guest Deepa Varshney as part of the inauguration. The ceremony and the cultural performances kept the participants engaged throughout the event.

The main attraction was the Karwa Chauth Queen competition. The judging panel selected the winner on the basis of the women’s solah shringar, confidence, personality and stage presentation. On the occasion, organisation president Renu Varshney said, “Karwa Chauth is not only a fast for the long life of the husband, but also a symbol of Indian culture, love and devotion.” She added that such events provide women with a platform to showcase their talent and help increase mutual brotherhood.

Coordinator Dr Urvashi Varshney expressed her gratitude to everyone. The programme brought members together through cultural performances, games, the ramp walk and the Karwa Chauth Queen competition.

Renu Varshney, Dr Urvashi Varshney, Mamta Varshney, Kavita, Sadhana, Anjana, Meenu, Nidhi, Pushpa, Deepti, Sanjula, Sapna, Charu, Shashi, Kalpana and Alpana Arya were among those present. A large number of members of Utthan Samiti Group also attended the programme.
