Complaint filed from Dubai
The complainant, K. Sridhar, works at a private firm in Dubai while his wife Nivedita and daughter live in Arakkonam town. Sridhar wanted to apply for a passport for his wife to bring his family to Dubai. Since the couple reside within Arakkonam Taluk police limits, the passport application was forwarded to the station for verification of the submitted details.
During the online verification process, Raja demanded the money to clear the application, according to DVAC sources. Sridhar subsequently filed a complaint with DVAC's Chennai unit.

A DVAC team from Arakkonam investigated the complaint and confirmed that Raja had received ₹400 online for clearing the verification. The anti-corruption agency has registered a case against the data operator, and further investigation is ongoing.
