Students Urged to Harness Emerging Technologies at NIT Andhra Pradesh Convocation

At the eighth convocation of the National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh (NIT-A.P.) in Tadepalligudem, iLabs Group Chairman Chintalapati Srinivasa Raju emphasized the importance of embracing emerging technologies and pursuing innovative research to support India's vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. Addressing the gathering on Tuesday, Mr. Srinivasa Raju highlighted the rapid evolution of technological advancements and urged students to equip themselves with the necessary skills to thrive in a competitive landscape.

Degrees Awarded to Over 700 Graduates

The convocation witnessed the awarding of 644 B.Tech and 53 Ph.D. degrees, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of the students. IIT Tirupati Director K. N. Satyanarayana, the Guest of Honour, commended the graduates for their dedication and discipline, stating that their achievements were a testament to their perseverance.

India’s Path to Global Leadership

Prof. Satyanarayana underscored India’s strides toward becoming a global leader in manufacturing, space exploration, renewable energy, semiconductors, and innovation. He stressed the pivotal role young minds will play in shaping this journey, urging them to contribute to the nation’s progress through their expertise and creativity.

Campus Development and Rankings

Reflecting on NIT Andhra Pradesh’s growth, In-Charge Director N. V. Ramana Rao shared updates on the campus infrastructure development. The institute is currently undergoing its first phase of construction with an investment of ₹411 crore, aimed at establishing state-of-the-art laboratories and research centres to enhance teaching and research capabilities.

Additionally, Prof. Ramana Rao highlighted the institute’s achievement in securing a position in the 201-300 band in the engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings for 2025. This recognition underscores NIT-A.P.’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

The convocation celebrated the accomplishments of the graduates while setting a forward-looking vision for their contributions to India’s technological and industrial growth.
