Mini Bus Carrying Devotees Overturns In Rae Bareli, Over Dozen Injured

A mini bus carrying devotees overturned after going out of control on the Ganga Expressway near Aihar in the Lalganj Kotwali area of Rae Bareli. The passengers were travelling from Mathura-Vrindavan, where they had gone for darshan, to Kashi Vishwanath.

More than a dozen people, including women and children, were seriously injured in the accident. Seven of the injured were reported to be in critical condition and were referred to the district hospital for treatment.

The accident is believed to have occurred after the driver dozed off while driving. The bus overturned on the expressway, triggering panic and screams among the passengers.

All the people travelling in the mini bus are reported to be residents of Howrah, Kolkata, in West Bengal. They were on a religious journey.

As soon as information about the accident was received, police personnel reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. With the help of local residents, the police brought all the injured passengers out of the bus.

The injured were then sent to a nearby community health centre for treatment. Their treatment is continuing there.

Police teams that reached the spot have started investigating the entire incident. The circumstances that led to the mini bus losing control are being examined.
