Maxivision Opens Second Eye Hospital In Vijayawada's Poranki
Maxivision opened its second Vijayawada eye hospital at Poranki, offering cataract, glaucoma, retina, Lasik and paediatric eye care services.
Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals opened its second hospital at Poranki in Vijayawada on Saturday (September 26, 2026), adding to its eye care network of 90-plus facilities across the country.
Minister of Mines and Excise Kollu Ravindra inaugurated the new hospital.
Services at the Poranki hospital
The hospital will provide a comprehensive range of eye care services for conditions such as cataract, glaucoma, retina-related disorders, refractive surgery, paediatric eye care and other vision-related concerns.
Patients will have access to consultations, diagnostic investigations and surgical procedures across various ophthalmic specialties, according to a press release.
The services will be supported by experienced clinical teams and modern technology, the press release said.
Vijayawada described as an important region
Dr. G.S.K. Velu, chairman, Maxivision Super Speciality Eye Hospitals (MSSEH), said Vijayawada has been an important region for the hospital.
He said the hospital would provide quality eye care services through experienced doctors, best in class technology and a strong clinical approach.
Dr. K.P. Reddy, Chief Mentor of MSSEH, said Maxivision was the first hospital to introduce Lasik in Andhra Pradesh.
Public representatives attend opening
MP Kesineni Sivanath was present at the inauguration.
MLAs Bode Prasad, Gadde Ram Mohan Rao and Bonda Umamaheswar Rao also attended the event.
Tadigadapa Municipality TDP president Anumolu Prabhakar Rao and MSSEH Vijayawada Medical Officer A. Ramakrishna were among those present.
