A delegation of the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI), Kalaburagi, met Congress president and Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge at his office in New Delhi and formally invited him to inaugurate the Chamber’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

The celebrations are scheduled to be held in Kalaburagi from November 28 to 30.

The delegation was led by KKCCI president Sharanabasappa M. Pappa and honorary secretary Shivraj V. Inginshetty.

Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Jairam Ramesh was also present during the meeting.

Three-day programme in Kalaburagi

The three-day celebrations will mark 60 years of the Chamber’s contribution to trade, industry and the development of the Kalyana Karnataka region.

The programme will include an industrial exhibition, a State-level conference, the ‘Udyoga Sethu’ job mela and the KKCCI Founders’ Day celebrations.

The delegation briefed Mr. Kharge on the objectives of the programme and its focus on bringing together industrialists, entrepreneurs, industry associations and job seekers.

According to the delegation, the events are intended to promote business opportunities, investment and employment in the region.

The celebrations will also recognise the contributions of the Chamber’s founders and others who have helped build the organisation over the past six decades.

Significance for the region

The delegation said Mr. Kharge’s presence at the inauguration would be particularly significant because Kalaburagi is his hometown.

It also said his presence would serve as an encouragement to the region’s business and industrial community.

The invitation comes as KKCCI prepares a programme combining an industrial exhibition, industry-focused discussions, employment opportunities and a recognition of the Chamber’s institutional history.

The information also lists KKCCI joint secretary Girish Anakal, Lingraj Bhavikatti, Dinesh Patil, Santosh Suresh Nandyal, Jagadish Patil, Vinay Chitakwar, Anudeep Dandoti and Shivraj Khubha.
