Kerala Forest and Wildlife department wins Onam Tourism Week cultural procession prize

The Kerala Forest and Wildlife department clinched the top prize among State government departments in the cultural procession that concluded the Onam Tourism Week 2026 celebrations. The Tourism department announced winners across multiple categories for events held during the festival week.

Space agency, Railway among Central winners

ISRO secured first place in the Central government institutions category, with Southern Railway taking second. The Livestock Development Board led the public-sector field, while the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation and the National Ayurveda Mission shared the runner-up position.

The Excise department finished second among State departments in the cultural procession.

Local bodies, arts performances recognised

Thiruvananthapuram Corporation won the local self-government institutions category, ahead of the Thiruvananthapuram District Panchayat. NABARD topped the banking sector, and Krupalayam Old-Age Home received a consolation prize.

In the Visual Art Forms category for Kalari, Agasthya Siddha Marma Kalari Sanghom placed first, while Hussein Kollayil earned second prize in Arabanamutt. Vignesh won first prize for Panchari Melam, and Kaurava Kalasamiti secured second in Shinkarimelam.

Illumination contest results announced

The illuminations category saw Keltron lead the public-sector entries, followed by Jalabhavan. The State Legislative Assembly complex won among State departments, with Thiruvananthapuram Corporation second. Kalyan Silks topped private-sector illuminations, ahead of Anna Bhavan Restaurant.

The Onam Tourism Week celebrations bring together government agencies, public institutions and private participants in a week-long showcase of cultural floats, traditional art forms and festival decorations across the capital city.
