Karnataka government grants thirty lakh rupees to Vijayapura engineering college

BLDE Association’s Dr. P.G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology has been selected by the Karnataka government’s Vision Group on Science and Technology for research grants of around ₹30 lakh.

Grant under K-FIST-L1

The support has been approved under the ‘Karnataka Fund for Improvement of S&T Infrastructure in Higher Educational Institutions’ (K-FIST-L1).

The funded project is titled ‘Low-cost Smart Pavement Condition Assessment using Vision Sensors and Fuzzy Logic-based Decision Support System’.

Asif Iqbal Momin, Professor, is the Principal Investigator for the project, while Arun S. Bagi is the co-Principal Investigator.

Both are from the Department of Civil Engineering.

Early Career Research Award

The ‘Early Career Research Award’ (ECRA) will go to another project titled ‘Indian Sign Language Recognition with Multi-modal Video-based NLP-driven Kannada Translation’.

Shilpa Kaman is the Principal Investigator for this project.

Hemavati Biradar is the co-Principal Investigator.

They are from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering - Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning).

Institution congratulates faculty

The governing body of the BLDE institution congratulated the faculty members.

Principal Manjunatha P., Vice-Principals Leena Ragha and Pradeep V. Malaji, and the Heads of Departments also congratulated the faculty members.
