JSS AHER Delegation Visits Japan’s AIST To Explore Research Cooperation

The latest engagement centred on identifying areas of mutual research interest and creating a structured framework for future cooperation between JSS AHER and AIST, JSS AHER said in a press release.

A delegation from JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHER), Mysuru, recently visited the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Tsukuba, Japan.

The delegation was led by JSS AHER Pro-Chancellor Prof. B. Suresh.

JSS AHER described the visit as a step towards strengthening its international research and innovation ecosystem.

AIST is one of Japan’s leading public research organisations, according to JSS AHER.

The institute is internationally recognised for its work in advanced scientific research, technological innovation and the translation of research discoveries into practical applications that benefit industry and society.

The delegation was received by Yasunori Chiba, executive officer and director-general, Department of Life Science and Biotechnology.

Motomichi Doi, deputy director, and Hyonchol Kim, director, Collaboration Promotion Office of Life Science and Biotechnology, also received the delegation.

The discussions focused on identifying areas where the two institutions could share research interests.

They also examined the development of a structured framework for future cooperation between JSS AHER and AIST, the release added.

The visit thus brought together JSS AHER’s international research and innovation efforts with AIST’s recognised role in advanced science, technology development and practical applications for industry and society.
