The Philippines' largest fast-food chain Jollibee Foods Corp announced it will pursue a Hong Kong stock exchange listing for its international operations, scrapping earlier plans to list in the United States.

The company said it is working to separate its global arm, Jollibee Foods Corporation International, ahead of the planned spin-off. The decision marks a strategic pivot toward Asia's financial hub after initially targeting an American exchange.

Hong Kong chosen for regional familiarity

Jollibee cited its existing footprint in Hong Kong and stronger brand recognition across Asia as reasons for the switch. The company believes a Hong Kong listing could deliver better price discovery because investors there already understand its regional expansion trajectory and are positioned to assess where future value will emerge, according to Dilin Wu, a strategist at Pepperstone.

"HKEX also provides access to a broad base of global and regional investors, making it well suited to support a business with ambitions that extend well beyond Asia, including continued growth in North America," Jollibee said.

The move reflects confidence that Hong Kong's exchange can attract both regional and international capital for a company whose growth story spans continents, even as it maintains expansion plans in markets including the United States.
