IAS officer P. Shankar transferred to Commissioner of Archaeology role in Tamil Nadu. N. Subbaiyan assumes additional charge of Agriculture Department.
The Tamil Nadu government has transferred IAS officer P. Shankar from his position as Agriculture Production Commissioner and Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, and assigned him the role of Commissioner of Archaeology. He will replace V.P. Jayaseelan, who had been holding additional charge of the archaeology post.
To fill the vacancy created by Shankar's transfer, the state government has directed N. Subbaiyan, Secretary of the Social Justice Department, to assume full additional charge as Agriculture Production Commissioner and Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department. Subbaiyan will now handle responsibilities across both portfolios.
The administrative reshuffle was announced by the Tamil Nadu government, marking a change in leadership for both the archaeology and agriculture departments.
