Strict security arrangements were put in place in Hathras on Sunday, the final day of the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET-2026), with examinations scheduled for a total of 13,152 candidates across 16 centres in the district. The examination is being conducted in two shifts, with 6,576 candidates registered for each shift.

The district administration has made extensive arrangements to ensure that the examination is held peacefully and fairly, without cheating. Security checks at the centres, biometric verification, police deployment and assistance for candidates arriving from other districts are all part of these arrangements.

Candidates are being allowed into examination centres only after completing three levels of thorough checking and biometric verification. The screening process is being carried out before entry, with candidates required to clear the checks before they can proceed inside.

Under the prescribed rules, the checks cover bangles, earrings, belts and shoes, along with prohibited items. The entry arrangements are intended to ensure that candidates undergo the required scrutiny before being admitted to their examination centres.

Alongside the security measures, assistance has been arranged for candidates who have travelled to Hathras from other districts to take PET-2026. 'May I Help You' help centres have been set up at the railway station and bus stand to provide them with information and guidance.

These help centres are providing the necessary directions to candidates so that they can reach their examination centres without difficulty. The assistance arrangements at the railway station and bus stand form part of the administration’s preparations for those arriving in the district for the examination.

Police personnel have also been deployed around the examination centres. Necessary traffic arrangements have been made to keep movement smooth and prevent inconvenience to both candidates and members of the public.

The focus on traffic management extends beyond access to the examination centres, with arrangements aimed at ensuring that people travelling through the area do not face difficulties during the examination.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Chiranjeev Nath Sinha, police officers are monitoring security at examination centres and major intersections. The administration and police are maintaining vigilance throughout the examination to prevent disorder or any improper activity.

The district administration’s stated aim is to conduct PET-2026 in a peaceful, transparent and orderly manner. To achieve this, particular attention is being given to security at the centres, the checking of candidates, traffic management and assistance facilities.

With two shifts scheduled across the district’s 16 centres, these arrangements cover both the examination process and the support needed by candidates travelling to their allotted centres. Checks before entry and monitoring around the centres remain central to the preparations for the final day.
