GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg Launches 'News in Frames' Photo Exhibition
Ketan Garg unveils poster for 'News in Frames' photo exhibition in Vizag, showcasing society through photography on August 19-20.
GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg on Monday unveiled the official poster for the upcoming ‘News in Frames’ photography exhibition, set to be hosted by the Vizag Photo Journalists’ Association (VPJA) at the Visakha Museum on August 19 and 20.
Exhibition to Showcase Society Through the Lens
The two-day event will feature a diverse array of photographs capturing public life, culture, nature, development, and other societal themes. Entry to the exhibition, which will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days, will be free for all visitors.
During the poster launch, VPJA representatives invited Mr. Garg to inaugurate the exhibition on August 19. They also presented a video compilation of rare and impactful photographs taken by photojournalists over the years.
Commissioner Highlights Importance of Photography
Appreciating the showcased images, Mr. Garg suggested incorporating digital screens at the exhibition to enhance the display. He remarked on the enduring value of photography in preserving events, emotions, and history for future generations. He also underscored the critical role photojournalists play in documenting and disseminating significant developments to the public.
The exhibition promises to provide a visual narrative of society’s many facets, offering visitors an opportunity to reflect on the power of photojournalism.
