Army Day 2027 Formally Launched in Bhopal with Sankalp Vriksh Planting

The formal launch of Army Day-2027 took place at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal on the 71st Foundation Day of Madhya Pradesh, bringing a message of patriotism and military valour to the state capital. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and Lieutenant General Arvind Chauhan, General Officer Commanding of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, jointly planted the “Sankalp Vriksh”, or resolve tree.

The tree was planted using soil brought from all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh. The initiative was presented as a symbol of the state’s unity, integrity and collective commitment to the nation. The event also carried a message to take the valour, sacrifice and discipline of the Army to people across the state.

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav said that Madhya Pradesh’s Year of Youth would move forward by drawing inspiration from the valour and bravery of the soldiers. He said Army Day-2027 would be an occasion of pride for the state.

The Army Day parade will be held in Bhopal on 15 January. The parade is expected to showcase military valour and discipline. The event at Shaurya Smarak has formally set the stage for the Army Day celebrations in the state.

Army Day-2027 was launched as part of the programmes marking Madhya Pradesh’s 71st Foundation Day. The joint planting of the Sankalp Vriksh by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav and Lieutenant General Arvind Chauhan highlighted the connection between the state’s people and the armed forces.

The tree, linked to the soil of all 55 districts, is expected to become a key symbol of the event. It represents the collective consciousness of Madhya Pradesh and the state’s respect for its soldiers. Preparations for the parade to be held in the capital are now expected to gain pace. The 15 January event will bring the Army’s valour and discipline into focus in Bhopal.
