Mohan Yadav courts global investors at Dubai summit, pitches Bhopal meet

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav arrived at the Dubai World Trade Center on 7 September to participate in the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM Congress-2026). His visit to Dubai is aimed at opening new avenues for investment and employment in Madhya Pradesh. The conference will take the state to new heights.

During the event, Dr Yadav invited investors to the Global Investor Meet (GIS-2027) scheduled to be held in Bhopal. The AIM Congress is one of the world's largest investment platforms, with over 20,000 delegates from more than 180 countries participating in this year's conference. Governments, major investors, sovereign wealth funds and companies converge on a single platform to discuss investment opportunities.

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav held direct meetings with major investors and companies at the venue. The presence of investors from across the world at one location presents a significant and cost-effective opportunity for Madhya Pradesh. On the first day, he inaugurated an exhibition of Madhya Pradesh's ODOP (One District One Product) and Geographical Indication (GI) products at Taj Dubai's Business Bay. By inaugurating the exhibition, he showcased Madhya Pradesh's rich handicrafts, handloom and traditional art heritage on an international platform.

The exhibition features Betul's bell metal craft, Chanderi sarees from Ashoknagar, Maheshwari sarees from Maheshwar in Khargone, Batik print from Ujjain, Zari-Zardozi from Bhopal and Gwalior carpets. These products represent Madhya Pradesh's traditional skills, cultural diversity and export potential. The state government's objective is to reach these products to global markets, connect them with international buyers and create new economic opportunities for artisans.

Chief Minister Dr Yadav also met with Arab Parliament President Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi. They discussed possibilities for extensive cooperation between Arab countries and Madhya Pradesh in the areas of trade, investment, agriculture, tourism and education. He informed Arab investors about the opportunities available in Madhya Pradesh's renewable energy, pharmaceutical manufacturing, medical equipment, textiles, logistics, advanced manufacturing and urban infrastructure sectors. Dr Yadav invited Mohammed Ahmed Al Yamahi and the Arab business delegation under his leadership to visit Madhya Pradesh and participate in the Global Investors Summit 2027.

Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav's trip is focused on investment. Under his leadership, Madhya Pradesh will emerge as a global investment destination. This will also strengthen preparations for GIS-2027. Dubai imports over 85 per cent of its food requirements from outside. In the year 2024, the UAE imported food worth approximately 16.2 billion dollars, which is 13.7 per cent more than 2023. Nearly 89 per cent of its population is expatriate, including a large number of Indians, and therefore the demand for Indian grains, pulses and processed food is continuously increasing. Madhya Pradesh can meet this demand.

According to the Economic Survey 2025, 26, Madhya Pradesh ranks first in the country in pulses, second in cereals with a 13.04 per cent share, first in maize and second in wheat with a 20.78 per cent share. Known as the 'Soya Pradesh', the state produces approximately 60 per cent of the country's soybean. The meeting with Yusuf Ali MA of Lulu Group during the programme is a means to convert this opportunity into actual deals. This is the most important aspect. A stable export market like Dubai will ensure better prices for Madhya Pradesh farmers for their produce. Additionally, investment will flow into cold chain, grading and food processing. Even a small share of this large market will directly benefit lakhs of farmers in the state.
