UP police bust fake disability certificate and exam solver racket across districts

Uttar Pradesh's Special Task Force (STF) and Sachendi police have busted a major racket involving fake disability certificates and professional exam solvers, arresting four members of a syndicate operating across multiple districts. The arrests were made at the IBPS examination centre 'ION DIGITAL ZONE' in Bhauti, Kanpur, exposing a sophisticated cheating operation that exploited provisions meant for disabled candidates.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Avneesh Yadav, Ashish Kumar (solver/scribe), Ankit Sachan, and Rahul Kumar Sinha (solver/scribe). The gang allegedly obtained fake disability certificates for completely healthy candidates by colluding with officials at the Chief Medical Officer's office and other authorities. These forged documents enabled the candidates to claim the scribe facility legally available to disabled persons appearing for competitive examinations.

The syndicate then deployed professional solvers in place of legitimate scribes, misusing the assistance provision to ensure candidates passed their exams. For this fraudulent service, the gang charged candidates up to ₹10 lakh per exam, earning massive illegal profits. Police recovered one WagonR car, one iPad, five mobile phones, forged disability documents and admit cards, Aadhaar and PAN cards, ATM cards, and cash from the accused.

During interrogation, the arrested members revealed the involvement of eight more individuals, against whom cases have been registered and searches are underway. The racket reportedly operated across several neighbouring districts. Authorities have registered cases under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024. Police are continuing their investigation to trace other agents and the broader network connected to this gang, which systematically undermined the integrity of competitive examinations while defrauding both candidates and the system designed to help genuinely disabled persons.
