A sensation spread in Morena’s Bagchini police station area on Wednesday morning after the body of a 40-year-old man was found inside a Scorpio lying in the dry canal near the Hadwansi culvert. The deceased has been identified as Satyendra alias Satyadev alias Dhara Pachauri, a resident of Sikaroda and currently residing in Santa under Bagchini police station.

After receiving information about the body, police reached the spot and secured the area. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team also arrived and began collecting evidence from the scene. Investigators are now trying to determine when and under what circumstances Satyendra Pachauri died, and how the Scorpio reached the dry canal.

The Scorpio was first noticed by villagers in the canal during the morning. The vehicle was lying there in a suspicious condition, which raised doubts among the villagers. They immediately informed the Bagchini police. When the police reached the location and checked the vehicle, they found Satyendra Pachauri’s body inside it.

Police said that no one other than the deceased was inside the vehicle at that time. The body was found alone inside the Scorpio. The police have begun investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, while the FSL team has started collecting scientific evidence from the spot.

According to the police, Satyendra alias Dhara Pachauri had a criminal record. Several serious cases are reportedly registered against him not only at different police stations in Morena but also in Gwalior and other districts. The cases are said to include robbery, murder, attempt to murder and atrocity-related offences.

Because of this criminal background, police are giving particular attention to the possibility of an old criminal rivalry behind the death. Investigators are examining whether past disputes involving Satyendra could be connected with the incident.

During the investigation, police also received information that the deceased had old enmities with several people. His name had recently surfaced in connection with the purchase and sale of disputed property. He was also reportedly involved in getting disputes related to that property settled, or ‘short out’.

The police are therefore examining several possible angles, including old rivalry, gang war and a property dispute. Investigators are also trying to find out who Satyendra had been in contact with before his death, whom he was last seen with and whether someone asked him to reach the Hadwansi culvert or accompanied him there.

Bagchini police station in-charge Kuldeep Rajput said that the deceased was a habitual offender and that several serious cases were registered against him. He said the body was found alone inside the Scorpio. According to him, the possibility of murder cannot be ruled out at the preliminary stage.

The FSL team is examining the crime scene, and the police are investigating the matter while keeping all possible aspects in mind. The evidence collected from the location may help establish the sequence of events and clarify the circumstances in which the Scorpio reached the canal.

Police are now waiting for the post-mortem report and the FSL findings to determine the actual cause of death. People linked to the deceased’s old criminal network and past disputes may also be questioned as part of the investigation.

The police are examining whether the death was a murder, the result of an old mutual rivalry or connected to some other reason. The exact circumstances will become clear only after the post-mortem report, FSL investigation and examination of the evidence collected from the scene are completed.
