Unnao MLA inaugurates ₹5 crore electrification project to boost power supply

Unnao MLA Pankaj Gupta has inaugurated a major electrification project worth ₹5 crore to strengthen the city’s power infrastructure. The ceremony, held in Banduhar locality, began with traditional rituals and was marked by a grand welcome for the legislator, complete with drums, fireworks, and garlands. Local residents and party workers participated enthusiastically in the event.

Speaking at the inauguration, Gupta emphasized his commitment to addressing public issues. He assured residents that no neighborhood in the city would face problems related to electricity poles or power lines. He promised the installation of new poles wherever needed and improvements to ensure uninterrupted power supply. Gupta highlighted that the ₹5 crore funding for the electricity department aims to prevent power shortages during the summer months and that preparations are already underway to tackle next year’s demand.

The MLA also outlined various development projects underway in Unnao. He mentioned the installation of floodlights at the bypass stadium and beautification efforts costing ₹19 crore. Additionally, Saraiya Bari near Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium is being transformed into a park, and the GIC grounds are undergoing a ₹5 crore renovation. Gupta also noted progress in education, including upgrades at GIC and GGIC institutions and the construction of a college for girls at GGIC.

Highlighting infrastructure improvements, Gupta said key roads in the city are being repaired and built to strengthen the urban framework. He also praised state and central government welfare schemes like the PM Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, free ration distribution, and pension benefits, which have reached a significant number of eligible beneficiaries.

The event saw the participation of local representatives, electricity department officials, and a large gathering of residents, reflecting the community’s support for the development initiatives.
