BJP spokesperson Chandramauli Singh said Smriti Irani’s attachment to Amethi was not limited to political ties. He said her personal connection with every party worker, local resident and different sections of society in the area had continued.
Singh said that even while living away from Amethi, Irani continued to remain concerned about the happiness and difficulties of the people there. He said her effort to make people feel her personal connection with them on special occasions reflected her sensitivity and deep attachment to Amethi.
He also said that recently, on the occasion of Navratri, Smriti Irani had sent the holy prasad of Mata Vaishno Devi and greeting messages for sanitation workers, advocates and senior citizens in Amethi. Through that gesture, she had expressed her respect, श्रद्धा and affection for them.
The sweets and gifts sent during Diwali were described by the BJP as more than a simple present. They were presented as a symbol of Smriti Irani’s affection, trust and close personal ties with the Amethi BJP family.
The party said Irani’s emotional relationship with the people of Amethi and its organisational workers continued. Remembering people during festivals, enquiring about everyone’s well-being and making them feel a sense of belonging were described as reflections of her commitment and sensitivity towards Amethi.
