Pratapgarh police externalize notorious criminal for six months under Goondas Act

Pratapgarh police have taken stringent action against a notorious anti-social element under a crackdown on crime and criminals in the district. Veerendra Saroj alias Veeru Pasi, son of Rajaram Saroj and resident of Raipur Bhagdara under Lalganj police station jurisdiction, has been externalized from the district for six months under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Control of Goondas Act, 1970.

The order was issued by the District Magistrate and Collector's court in Pratapgarh based on a report submitted by Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhukar. The court order was passed on August 18, 2026, under which the accused has been expelled from the territorial limits of Pratapgarh district. According to police records, multiple cases under various serious sections of law have been registered against Saroj, reflecting his involvement in criminal activities over time.

Police reports and beat information highlighted that his criminal activities had created an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in the area, prompting the authorities to take preventive action. The externment order aims to restore normalcy and ensure safety for residents who had been affected by the accused's presence and actions in the region.

Under the terms of the order, Saroj has been directed to leave the district within three days of receiving notification and is prohibited from entering the boundaries of Pratapgarh for the next six months. Violation of this order can attract further legal action under the provisions of the Goondas Act.

The operation was conducted by a police team that included Station House Officer of Lalganj Alok Kumar, Sub-Inspector Deepak Kumar who is in charge of Raniganj Kaithaula outpost, and other personnel from the local police force.
