In Nagpur, a 24-year-old woman, the wife of an Indian Air Force officer, has filed a complaint alleging rape, blackmail, and forced religious conversion. The main accused, Ayaz Taj Madare, is her former schoolmate. According to the complaint, Ayaz contacted her in February 2025 under the pretext of a property deal and invited her to a hotel. There, he allegedly spiked her drink, raped her, and recorded explicit videos, which were later used to blackmail her for approximately ₹4 lakh.
The woman further alleged that on May 31, Ayaz forcibly took her to Kalmeshwar near Nagpur, where she was introduced to Amin Sheikh and a cleric identified as Hazrat Maulana. The cleric, reportedly from Tamia village in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district, conducted religious rituals and coerced her into saying 'Qubool Hai,' claiming her conversion and marriage to Ayaz were complete. She also alleged that Ayaz made her drink a liquid substance and performed rituals while chanting in Urdu before raping her again.
A video has surfaced showing Ayaz holding the woman's hands and forcing her to recite religious verses. In the video, the woman is seen crying and pleading, "Let me go." This video has become a key piece of evidence in the case.
The police have arrested Ayaz Taj Madare and Amin Sheikh, while Hazrat Maulana remains at large. A team has been dispatched to Madhya Pradesh to locate him. The police have registered a case under charges of rape, repeated sexual assault, blackmail, extortion, forced religious conversion, and provisions of Maharashtra's anti-superstition and black magic law. Electronic devices have been seized for forensic analysis.
