Gwalior NEET Aspirant Alleges 10-Month Rape, Blackmail by Instagram Acquaintance

A serious case involving allegations of rape and blackmail has come to light in Gwalior, where a 17-year-old student preparing for the NEET examination was allegedly sexually assaulted and threatened for around 10 months. The accused is alleged to have befriended the girl on Instagram, taken her to a hotel, assaulted her and recorded an objectionable video.

According to the allegations, the accused later used the video to threaten the student with public disclosure. He allegedly continued to sexually exploit her by putting pressure on her and warning that the video would be made public.

The case came to light after the accused allegedly sent the video to the girl’s relatives. Following this, the victim gathered the courage to approach the police and file a complaint.

The girl is a Class 12 student and was preparing for NEET. According to the information available, contact between the two began on Instagram. The young man allegedly took her to Deep Hotel in the Gola Ka Mandir police station area on the pretext of dropping her at coaching classes.

The allegation is that the accused raped her at the hotel and purportedly made an objectionable video. He then allegedly threatened to circulate the video, using it to keep the student under pressure.

The girl reportedly stopped attending coaching classes because she feared disgrace and social embarrassment. She is said to have remained silent and endured the problem for a long time.

It has also been alleged that the accused forcibly assaulted her again around seven days before the matter came to light. The information available does not establish the allegations independently, and the police investigation is under way.

The situation changed when the accused allegedly sent the objectionable video to the girl’s relatives. The disclosure prompted the victim to contact the police and report the matter.

On the basis of her complaint, police registered an FIR against the accused, Aarush Mishra. The case has been registered under charges including rape, the POCSO Act and the IT Act, along with relevant sections.

Police said the case falls under the jurisdiction of the Gola Ka Mandir police station. After the FIR was registered, the police began searching for Aarush Mishra.

Further action in the case will be taken on the basis of the investigation and the evidence available, police said. The allegations against the accused will be examined as part of the legal process.

The case also raises questions about a minor student allegedly remaining under pressure from blackmail for months and having to stop her studies and coaching because of the fear of disgrace.
