Goldsmith's wife appeals to CM over blackmail, alleging police bias in Hamirpur case

A goldsmith's wife in Hamirpur has appealed to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath seeking justice, alleging that her family is being victimized by blackmail and that police are conducting one-sided investigations.

The woman accused a youth named Pranshu Gupta of blackmailing her goldsmith husband and his family. She alleged that Hamirpur police are working in collusion with Pranshu Gupta and conducting a biased investigation against her husband and brother-in-law.

The goldsmith's wife claimed that her husband, distressed by the continuous blackmail, had earlier attempted suicide by consuming poison. Despite this, she said, police action has remained one-sided.

Warning of serious consequences, the woman stated that if anything happens to her husband or her brother-in-law, Hamirpur police and Pranshu Gupta would be responsible for it.

The matter pertains to the Sadar Kotwali police station area. The goldsmith's wife has now turned to the Chief Minister seeking intervention in what she describes as harassment by both the accused blackmailer and local police.
