A workshop on artificial intelligence and digital responsibility was organised at Holy Child Public Inter College in Muzaffarnagar to make students aware of modern technology and inform them about the correct, safe and responsible use of artificial intelligence (AI).

The event, titled the “Artificial Intelligence Awareness and Digital Responsibility Workshop”, focused on helping students understand the growing role of AI in everyday life. The workshop also aimed to make them aware of the responsibilities that come with using digital technology.

Shubhi Verma, an artificial intelligence expert and professor at MIET College, Meerut, and Shikha Chauhan addressed the students as the main speakers. They explained the usefulness and functioning of artificial intelligence and discussed its increasing impact on daily life.

Shubhi Verma said that artificial intelligence is now playing an important role in education, healthcare, communication, research and different business sectors. She explained that AI systems can learn from data and experience, recognise images and voices, understand language, create new content, solve problems and predict possible outcomes.

To explain the practical use of AI, the students were given the example of a system that identifies spam emails. They were told that artificial intelligence can analyse the patterns and features of old messages and use that information to help identify unwanted messages.

During the workshop, students were encouraged to use artificial intelligence-based tools to make their studies more effective, obtain new information, develop creativity and find solutions to problems. At the same time, they were clearly told that every piece of information provided by AI should not be accepted without checking.

The students were advised to verify the accuracy of information generated by artificial intelligence before relying on it. The speakers stressed the need to use AI carefully and with proper understanding.

Special emphasis was placed on digital responsibility. Students were made aware of the need to remain safe on the internet, protect the privacy of their personal information and follow cyber security rules. They were also taught about identifying misleading information and using technology in an ethical and responsible manner.

The speakers said that artificial intelligence is a useful assistant, but the importance of human judgement, original thinking and the ability to take the right decision will always remain. The message was presented as an important part of responsible digital use.

School Principal Pravendra Dahiya said that in the current digital age, it is not enough to limit students to traditional education. He said it is also necessary to make them aware of new technologies and help them become skilled and responsible users of technology.

Pravendra Dahiya said that workshops of this kind prepare students for the challenges of the future and encourage them to use technology in a positive manner. He added that students should not limit their use of artificial intelligence only to obtaining information.

According to him, students should also use AI to increase their knowledge, develop their creative abilities and make efforts to contribute positively to society. He underlined the need for students to understand both the opportunities offered by artificial intelligence and the responsibility involved in using it.

The main objective of the workshop was to create awareness among students about artificial intelligence and help develop them as safe, thoughtful and responsible digital citizens.
