Muzaffarnagar Man Alleges Death Threats From Wife’s Relatives After Divorce Notice

Naeem, a resident of Mahmoodnagar in the Civil Lines police station area of Muzaffarnagar district, has accused members of his wife’s maternal family of threatening him and mentally harassing him. He has submitted an application to the Senior Superintendent of Police, seeking justice in the matter.

According to the application, Naeem’s marriage to Rahnuma took place on 27 June 2026. He has alleged that after the marriage, his wife left the house with cash and jewellery.

Naeem then sent his wife the first divorce notice through an advocate on 21 October 2026, as part of the legal process. He has alleged that after the notice was sent, his wife’s maternal uncle threatened him over the phone.

According to Naeem’s allegation, the threat included killing him and ruining his family. He has also accused Sajid, Firoz and other people of mentally harassing him and having him followed.

Naeem said that he has preserved the recording related to the threats in a pen drive. He has asked the Senior Superintendent of Police to order an investigation into the matter and take strict legal action against those accused.
