Man stabbed to death in Bulandshahr over year-old family feud

A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in Bulandshahr's Bhaipura village late on Friday night, allegedly by a relative over an old enmity. Abubakar was attacked with a knife, and the accused's family reportedly pressured the victim's relatives not to inform the police.

The victim's family was preparing to bury Abubakar's body when someone tipped off the police. Officers reached the spot, took possession of the body, and sent it for post-mortem. As of 9 pm on Friday, no complaint had been registered in the case.

Mohsin, Abubakar's elder brother from Bhaipura village, said Abubakar worked as a welder in Gujarat and was unmarried. He had been visiting the village for a few days. Mohsin explained that about a year ago, a relative was laying electric wires over their house. Abubakar objected to this, which led to a scuffle between them.

The relative had nursed a grudge since that incident and had threatened to kill Abubakar several times. Mohsin said they did not lodge a police complaint because of the family relationship. Abubakar was sitting at the village crossroads around 8 pm on Friday when the accused attacked him with a knife. He suffered serious injuries to his stomach and hands.

After the incident, members of the accused's family took Abubakar to Bulandshahr for treatment, but he died. Abubakar was the youngest of five brothers. His elder brothers Mohsin and Rahees work as porters in Bulandshahr's Naveen Mandi. Bablu and Shahrukh work in Saudi Arabia. His father Asgar and mother Mahrun suffer from respiratory illness.

City Circle Officer Prakhar Pandey said no complaint had been received so far. Legal action would be taken after a complaint is filed.
