A 25-year-old man from Bulandshahr has been arrested by Lodha police for allegedly stealing a motorcycle from Bada Gaon village last month. The accused, identified as Shahrukh, son of Banwari Lal, a resident of Halpura in Bulandshahr district, was apprehended on Sunday following a tip-off from an informer.

The incident dates back to August 18 when Bijendra Singh, a resident of Karahla village under Gonda police station, had visited Bada Gaon in Lodha for personal work. His motorcycle was stolen while parked in the village. Singh promptly filed a complaint with the local police, who registered a case against unknown persons and formed a special team to track down the thief.

Acting on intelligence inputs, the police team intercepted Shahrukh near the Bamba rail track on the route leading to Jiroli Dor village from Lodha. During the operation, officers recovered the stolen motorcycle along with an old, rusted bicycle. The suspect was taken into custody immediately.

Police records reveal that Shahrukh already has a criminal history, with another case registered against him at Atrauli police station. After completing the necessary legal formalities and documentation, the Lodha police produced the accused before a local court, which remanded him to judicial custody.

The swift action by Lodha police in cracking the case within weeks has been appreciated by local residents. The recovery of the stolen vehicle has brought relief to the complainant, who had lodged the theft report immediately after the incident. Police are now investigating whether the accused was involved in similar theft cases in the region and if he was operating alone or as part of a larger network.
