Police in Sasni town of Hathras launched an anti-encroachment campaign on Tuesday afternoon at around 3 pm to remove goods placed on roads and address the problem of traffic jams. The action was carried out against people encroaching on public roads.

Led by Kotwali in-charge Vipin Chaudhary, the police team reached major markets, including Bachcha Park, the bus stand, Kamla Bazaar and Gandhi Chowk. The team removed encroachments made by shopkeepers in these areas.

During the campaign, roadside vendors operating handcarts and pushcarts were also instructed to arrange their goods properly. The police directed them to keep the roads and public pathways clear for the movement of people and vehicles.

Kotwali in-charge Vipin Chaudhary issued a strict warning to the shopkeepers during the action. He told them not to spread goods from their shops onto the roads and not to make illegal occupations on public routes.

The police said that encroachment on roads obstructs movement in the market and often leads to traffic jams. This creates difficulties for pedestrians as well as customers who come to the market for shopping.

The police team warned shopkeepers and handcart and pushcart operators not to encroach on the roads in the future. They were also instructed to keep the market roads open for traffic so that movement could remain smooth and people could get relief from the problem of jams.

Other members of the police force were also present during the campaign.
