Hathras Labourer Found Hanging At Home, Family Suspects Alcohol Link

A 27-year-old man, identified as Vikas, died after being found hanging inside a room at his home in the Kajrauthi village of Hathras. The incident took place in the limits of the Sadabad Kotwali area. Vikas is survived by his wife and two small children.

According to the information available, Vikas, the son of Malkhan Singh, was found hanging from a noose in the room at around 4:30 am on Thursday. Family members saw him in that condition in the morning and raised an alarm. The sight caused panic in the family, following which the police were informed.

The incident triggered cries and commotion in the household. After receiving the information, police reached the spot and inspected the scene. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Vikas, a resident of Kajrauthi village, worked as a daily-wage labourer and supported his family through his earnings. According to his family members, he had returned home after consuming alcohol on Wednesday night.

The family members also said that Vikas was accustomed to drinking alcohol. They expressed the suspicion that he may have taken the step while under the influence of alcohol. However, the actual reason behind the incident has not yet been established. Police are investigating the matter.

Vikas’s death has left the family in deep distress. He has left behind his wife and two small children. His wife was inconsolable after his death, while the two children lost their father.

The cries of the family members spread grief across the village. People in the village were also mourning after learning about the death.

Police have completed the necessary legal formalities and sent the body for post-mortem examination. Further action in the case will be taken on the basis of the post-mortem report and the ongoing investigation.
