Gwalior Man Dies by Suicide; Family Alleges Wife Threatened False Rape Case

A 36-year-old man allegedly died by suicide in Gwalior amid claims by his family that his wife had been mentally harassing him and threatening to implicate him in a false rape case. The incident took place in the Janakganj police station area during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The incident was reported at around 1 am.

According to the information available, the man hanged himself at his residence. His family members said he had been under stress because of the alleged threats and harassment. They claimed that his wife had been continuously troubling him mentally and had also threatened to frame him in a false rape case.

The man’s death led to turmoil in the family. After learning about the incident, his relatives took him to a hospital. However, he could not be saved. The death later led to questions being raised against his wife by the family members.

The relatives said that a dispute had been continuing between the man and his wife for a long time. They claimed that he remained disturbed because of the alleged threats and harassment from his wife. According to them, a tense situation had also developed late on Friday night. After this, at around 1 am, the man hanged himself and died.

The hospital premises later turned into a scene of violence when a dispute broke out between the two sides after the man’s death. The argument escalated quickly and turned into a physical fight. People from both sides allegedly exchanged blows, and kicking and punching took place in the hospital premises.

The incident created an atmosphere of chaos at the hospital. After receiving information about the clash, police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. Police also detained a suspect in connection with the incident.

The Janakganj police station has taken up the case for investigation. Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the suicide, the dispute between the husband and wife, and the allegations of mental harassment and threats made by the man’s relatives.

The family has alleged that the wife’s conduct and threats had left the man under stress. However, the allegations made against the wife have not yet been independently confirmed. Police are also examining the claims that the man was threatened with being implicated in a false rape case.
