Four jewelry thieves arrested for highway robbery operation in Rorawer

Shivkumar, a resident of Karilia village in Lodha, Aligarh, was traveling on his bike with his wife to attend a family function on Thursday afternoon. He had barely traveled some distance on the highway in the Rorawer area when two bike-borne youths snatched the earrings from his wife. Police registered a case and formed a team to investigate the matter.

On Saturday afternoon, acting on a tip-off from an informer, police nabbed four persons including a minor near the highway on the Shahpur side. The bike used in the robbery and the stolen earrings were also recovered from their possession.

During interrogation, the accused revealed their modus operandi. Two members of the gang would conduct reconnaissance using a tempo, while the other two would execute the robbery on a bike.

The four accused identified themselves as Ashish alias Vikash, son of Vijay Singh, resident of Sahibabad Sasnigate; Nitin, son of Rajesh, resident of Avtar Nagar, Bhadesi Road Sasnigate; Raja, son of Vedram Singh, resident of Kali Mandir, Mahendra Nagar Sasnigate; and a 14-year-old juvenile offender.

Police have taken action against all four accused.
