Former Technical Education Minister Dr Amita Singh has distributed colourful umbrellas among street vendors and small traders in Amethi tehsil as an initiative to provide relief to those who set up their shops under the open sky in strong sunlight and rain.
The umbrellas have been provided to a range of small traders, including cobblers, blacksmiths, phulki sellers, paan shopkeepers, people who roast bhujia, and vendors selling vegetables and fruits. These traders often operate from roadside locations and remain exposed to changing weather conditions while running their businesses.
The initiative has combined immediate relief for small traders with messages about Amethi’s development and its future. The umbrellas carry slogans including ‘अमेठी का आज, अमेठी का कल’, ‘विश्वास की डोर, विकास की ओर’, ‘सेवा का संकल्प, विकास का संकल्प’ and ‘भविष्य के लिए आज से प्रयास’.
Through the messages printed on the umbrellas, the initiative seeks to extend support to small traders while also conveying a development-focused message. The effort by Dr Amita Singh is being discussed among local residents and the shopkeepers who received the umbrellas.
Dr Amita Singh said that umbrellas had been made available as a service initiative for people who set up shops under the open sky along roads in the areas of Amethi, Bhadar, Sangrampur and Bhetua blocks.
She said she was dedicated to serving Amethi and would continue to work for the development of the area. Dr Amita Singh also said that she was concerned about the development of every exploited and deprived person in society.
She added that, as before, she would continue to make every possible effort for them. The distribution of umbrellas has therefore been presented as a service initiative aimed at helping roadside traders while carrying messages linked to trust, development, service and future-focused efforts in Amethi.
