SIR deadline for Telangana extended to November 30, 2026
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has extended by three weeks the deadline for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Telangana, moving it to November 30.
Revised schedule
In a late-night announcement on Thursday, the ECI also changed the date for publishing the final electoral rolls from November 9 to November 30. The period for issuing notices and disposing of claims and objections has been extended from November 5 to November 26.
The revised schedule follows a request from Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudharsan Reddy. Reddy made the request in a letter to the ECI dated October 29.
The decision changes the timeline for both the ongoing revision and the publication of the final rolls. Under the earlier schedule, the final rolls were to be published on November 9. The revised timetable now places their publication on November 30, after the extended notices, claims and objections phase ends on November 26.
