Bulandshahr police arrest two wanted criminals in attempted murder case

Two wanted criminals carrying rewards of Rs 25,000 each were arrested by Bulandshahr police late Tuesday night in connection with an attempted murder case. The accused, who had been on the run since the attack, were apprehended near Jhamka Flyover service road around 11 pm by a joint team from Khurja Nagar police station and the Rural SWAT unit.

The case dates back to August 20, when Anil Sharma, a resident of Murari Nagar in Khurja, filed a complaint at the police station. According to the complaint, the accused had verbally abused and launched a murderous assault on his friend Ankur Chaudhary, leaving him seriously injured. Police registered a case under relevant sections and launched a manhunt for the suspects.

Acting under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar Singh, the police team arrested the two wanted criminals on August 25. The accused have been identified as Nishant Chaudhary, a resident of Bagrai Khurd village, and Bhupendra Chaudhary from Bagrai Kalan village. The SSP had announced a reward of Rs 25,000 on each of their heads for information leading to their capture.

Police revealed that this was the second breakthrough in the case within two days. On August 24, another accused carrying a Rs 25,000 reward, Lakhan alias Arun, was arrested following a police encounter in connection with the same incident.

Both arrested men have extensive criminal records. Nishant Chaudhary has dozens of cases registered against him, while Bhupendra Chaudhary faces charges under serious sections including assault, attempted murder, and the Arms Act. Following due legal procedure, both accused have been sent to judicial custody. The operation reflects the police department's intensified crackdown on history-sheeters and wanted criminals in the district.
