Mr. Dileep Tiwari — Editor-in-Chief, News Darpan Now Mr. Dileep Tiwari is a distinguished journalist, newsroom leader, political correspondent, and media executive with more than three decades of extensive experience in Indian journalism. Over the course of his career, he has worked across reporting, political journalism, editorial management, news planning, programming, and strategic leadership, establishing himself as a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of the Indian political and media landscape. Mr. Tiwari began his journalistic career with Amar Ujala in 1997, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey spanning more than 30 years. In 1999, he joined Zee Media as a Reporter, where he went on to build a strong reputation for his comprehensive and incisive coverage of Indian politics, particularly matters concerning the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), and Parliament. During his years as a political journalist, Mr. Tiwari had the opportunity to closely cover some of the most significant political developments in the country. His extensive field experience included accompanying and covering the overseas and domestic tours of both former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including approximately ten Prime Ministerial tours with each. This experience gave him first-hand exposure to the functioning of the highest levels of government, national politics, diplomacy, and political decision-making. His expertise in political journalism and newsroom leadership eventually led him to head the Zee News Political Bureau from 2007 to 2015. During this period, he was closely involved in political news coverage, strategic news planning, election coverage, and the management of one of the country's most important political news operations. Mr. Tiwari's journalistic experience extends well beyond Delhi's political corridors. He has undertaken extensive ground reporting from Pakistan and Afghanistan on approximately ten occasions, covering events and developments in some of the region's most challenging environments. These assignments further strengthened his understanding of geopolitics, national security, cross-border issues, and the complexities of reporting from conflict-sensitive regions. In 2015, Mr. Tiwari transitioned into a larger editorial leadership role when he was appointed Editor of Zee MPCG. His leadership responsibilities expanded further in 2017 when he became Editor of Zee UPUK. Subsequently, he took on the responsibility of Editor-in-Chief and CEO of Cluster Three at Zee Media, overseeing multiple regional news channels, including Zee UPUK, Zee MPCG, Zee Punjab Haryana Himachal, and Zee Salaam. As the head of this multi-channel cluster, Mr. Tiwari was responsible not only for editorial direction but also for news strategy, daily and forward news planning, programming, newsroom operations, editorial execution, and the planning and execution of major news events. His ability to identify important stories, anticipate news cycles, structure programming, and translate editorial strategy into measurable audience outcomes became an important part of his leadership profile. One of the significant milestones of his editorial career was the performance of the channels under his leadership. All four channels under his editorial and executive leadership were positioned at number one in their respective TRP rankings, reflecting his strong understanding of regional audiences, news programming, editorial strategy, and television newsroom management.
