Yoga and Water Conservation Campaign Launched at McPherson Lake

In the run-up to International Yoga Day, a unique campaign combining yoga and water conservation was held at Prayagraj’s McPherson Lake on Thursday. Organized by the 137 Composite Ecological Task Force Battalion (Territorial Army) and 39 GR (Ganga Task Force), the event aimed to promote healthy living through yoga while raising awareness about the importance of protecting water bodies.

The Territorial Army officers emphasized that keeping lakes and rivers free from pollution is not just the administration’s job but a shared responsibility of every citizen. Participants were briefed on ongoing efforts to rejuvenate water bodies, highlighting the urgent need for collective action to restore their ecological balance.

McPherson Lake, once a vital water source and popular attraction in Prayagraj, has suffered significant degradation over the years due to pollution and encroachment. The Territorial Army is now working on its revival, aiming to restore it as a clean, scenic, and environmentally rich landmark. The campaign underscored the connection between personal health and environmental well-being, delivering the message that a clean environment and a healthy lifestyle go hand in hand to build a stronger society.
