Wanted accused arrested for sexual assault of minor in Shravasti

A wanted accused arrested for the sexual assault of a minor girl has been apprehended by police in Shravasti district following a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Acting on specific intelligence, police arrested Nasruddin, son of Jabir Khan, resident of Hempur Badharahwa under Sirsia police station limits in Shravasti district, on September 9, 2026. The arrest was made near the road leading from Talbghaura to Chhotki Suiya on the basis of information provided by an informer.

The accused was wanted in connection with Case Number 250/26 registered at Sirsia police station under Section 64(2)M of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with Sections 5L/6 of the POCSO Act. Following his arrest, Nasruddin was produced before the honorable court for further legal proceedings.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Station House Officer Shri Saurabh Singh and executed by Sub-Inspector Shri Manoj Kumar along with his team. The action formed part of the effective control and crime prevention measures being conducted across the district as per the orders and directions issued by Superintendent of Police Shri Rahul Bhati. The operation was supervised by Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Chandrakesh Singh and Circle Officer Nagar Bhinga Shri Bharat Paswan.

According to the brief details of the incident, on September 7, 2026, the complainant Shah Alam, son of Usman Khan, resident of Badharahwa with postal address Hempur under Sirsia police station in Shravasti district, submitted an application at the local police station. In his complaint, Shah Alam stated that the accused Nasruddin had on several occasions established physical relations with the complainant's daughter. The complainant further alleged that on August 25, 2026, the accused called his daughter and established physical relations with her against her will.

Based on the application received from the complainant, Case Number 250/26 was registered at Sirsia police station under Section 64(2)M of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Sections 5L/6 of the POCSO Act. The arrest team that successfully apprehended the accused consisted of Sub-Inspector Shri Manoj Kumar, Head Constable Devendra Pratap, and Head Constable Satyanand Yadav.
