Uttar Pradesh cracks down on sugar hoarding with surprise raids on dealers

Officials in Bahraich district are continuing surprise inspections at wholesale sugar dealers' premises as part of a state government directive aimed at preventing excessive stockpiling of the commodity. A team formed by District Food and Marketing Officer Rupesh Singh and the District Supply Officer conducted inspections at several establishments located in the city's Galla Mandi and Cantonment Chowk areas. The officials examined sugar stock levels at each location and issued strict instructions to the dealers regarding inventory management and reporting requirements.

The state government of Uttar Pradesh has explicitly instructed traders not to hoard large quantities of sugar, and these inspections are being carried out in compliance with that directive.
