Sitapur has adequate sugar stock, district administration assures amid online rumors

District Magistrate Dr. Rajagnapati R has assured residents of Sitapur that adequate sugar stock is available in the district, urging people to disregard rumors circulating on social media platforms about sugar shortages. The district administration has emphasized that the general public can easily purchase sugar from the open market according to their requirements and should not believe unverified information spreading online.

The District Magistrate informed that regular monitoring and verification of sugar stock held by wholesale dealers across the district is being conducted. Sugar dealers have been directed to register on the Government of India portal for the year 2026 and declare their available stock every Friday after registration. This systematic approach aims to maintain transparency and ensure continuous availability of sugar in local markets.

Following the District Magistrate's instructions, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, Regional Marketing Officers, Marketing Inspectors, and Mandi Secretaries conducted verification of wholesale dealers' warehouses across various tehsils. In Sadar tehsil, Gaurav Distributors had 450 quintals while Yash Enterprises held 410 quintals. In Mahmudabad tehsil, Dhaniram Trading Company stored 29 quintals, Aamir Trading had 125 quintals, and New India Trading possessed 72 quintals. Biswan recorded 453 quintals at Ramesh Stores and 350 quintals at Saksham Trading Company.

In Mishrikh tehsil, Maheshwari Trading Company had 341.50 quintals, Naimish Ann Bhandar held 200 quintals, Maa Gyarsi Trading Company stored 84.50 quintals, and Naina Traders possessed 230 quintals. The verification exercise found a total of 2,744 quintals of sugar stock across all inspected establishments. All verified stock data was immediately uploaded to the relevant Government of India portal.

The District Magistrate has instructed officials to continue regular stock monitoring and maintain sugar availability in the market. Citizens have been urged to avoid unnecessary purchasing or hoarding and to buy sugar only according to their actual needs, helping maintain stable supply and prices in the district.
