Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Gramin) is starting a large-scale road restoration campaign from 01 October 2026 to repair rural roads that were dug up for laying pipelines under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Executive Engineer, Jal Nigam, Mohammad Imran said in a press note.

According to the press note, the campaign is aimed at fixing roads in villages where pipeline-laying work was carried out to ensure supply of clean drinking water from village to village. The department has said that roads affected during the laying of pipelines have been identified for the campaign being run across the state from 01 October 2026.

Mohammad Imran said villagers can send photos and videos if a road in their village has not yet been repaired after pipeline work. Such complaints can be registered through the Jal Sarthi app. The department has said that once a complaint is received, it will be taken up immediately and action for repair and restoration of the road will be ensured through the concerned officials.

The complaints received through this system are being monitored at the headquarters level of Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Gramin). The press note said this monitoring arrangement has been put in place so that complaints related to road restoration after pipeline work can be tracked and acted upon.

Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Gramin) is currently supplying drinking water in 361 villages of the district. In the remaining villages, the process of starting drinking water supply is going on in a phased manner. For taking water to every household, details have been compiled of the pipelines laid in the district and the roads that were dug for laying those pipelines.

In the district, a total of 4023 kilometres of pipeline has been laid for drinking water supply under 330 schemes. For laying these pipelines, a total of 1337 kilometres of road had to be broken or dug. Out of this, repair and restoration work has already been completed on 1266 kilometres of road. The remaining 71 kilometres of road will be repaired through the large-scale campaign now being started.

The press note said villagers have several options for complaints related to drinking water schemes in villages, including a toll-free number, the Jal Samadhan app and other available channels. Complaints related to roads can also be registered through these platforms. However, keeping the road restoration campaign in view, a special facility has been made available on the Jal Sarthi app.

To use this facility, villagers have been asked to install the Jal Sarthi app on their mobile phones. The link for the app is https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jal.sarthi. After opening the app, users need to click on the option ‘सड़क पुनर्स्थापना/मरम्मत अभियान’. They must then enter their name, village name and full address, and upload photos and videos showing the condition of the road.

The complaint received through the app will be forwarded to the concerned officials, and necessary action will be ensured, the department said. The system is intended to make it easier for villagers to directly report roads that still need restoration after pipeline-laying work.

The press note also said that different types of roads across the state had to be dug during the process of laying pipelines. After the pipeline-laying work was completed, restoration work on most of these roads had already been carried out. For the remaining roads, a large road restoration campaign is being launched simultaneously across the state from 01 October.

Under this campaign, the work of restoration and repair of roads dug for laying pipelines will be carried out on a war footing, according to Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Gramin).
