UP official inspects water supply scheme serving 317 households in Pratapgarh

S.K. Singh, Chief Engineer of the Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam (Rural) Kanpur Zone, conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Bhuwalpur Kila Water Supply Scheme operating under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Pratapgarh district. The scheme serves Gram Panchayat Bhuwalpur Kila in the Sadar development block and represents a significant step toward ensuring tap water connections to every rural household.

During the inspection, Singh examined various components of the project and reviewed its current status, water supply arrangements, and operation and maintenance activities in detail. He inspected the elevated water reservoir constructed under the scheme, which has a capacity of 200 kiloliters and stands 16 meters high. The project has laid approximately 12 kilometers of pipeline and successfully provided 317 functional household tap connections to the village.

The Chief Engineer interacted directly with villagers to gather feedback on the drinking water supply, tap connections, and regularity of water availability under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Residents expressed satisfaction with the water facility. Heena Devi, a local resident, shared that the village previously faced severe drinking water shortages and people encountered numerous difficulties arranging water. She said the scheme has brought immense relief to villagers, who are now very happy with regular water supply. She emphasized that having drinking water available through taps near homes has particularly benefited women.

Singh directed concerned officials and the implementing agency to ensure regular, quality, and uninterrupted drinking water supply to every beneficiary. He instructed special attention be given to proper operation and maintenance of the scheme, regular monitoring of water supply, maintenance of necessary records, and consistent chlorination to maintain water quality. Supervising Engineer Dharmendra Kumar from UP Jal Nigam (Rural) Prayagraj, Executive Engineer Tausif Ahmad, and representatives from the implementing agency were present during the inspection.
