Ujjain Firing: Two Accused Arrested After Allegedly Opening Fire, Sent To Jail

Two accused have been arrested after bike-borne men allegedly opened fire late on Wednesday night in Valmiki Nagar near Freeganj in Ujjain. The incident created panic in the area. The two accused had reportedly reached the locality to threaten a young man named Sujal over an old rivalry. No one was reported injured in the firing.

Madhavnagar police station in-charge Gajendra Pachauria said the accused, identified as Sahil alias Bhuria and Sachin alias Ayush, arrived in Valmiki Nagar on a motorcycle. According to the police, they opened fire before fleeing from the spot. Fortunately, the bullet did not hit anyone.

Police registered a named case against both accused and arrested them. A pistol and a knife were also seized from their possession. The police action followed the firing incident and the complaint related to the threat allegedly issued to Sujal.

Police take out procession of accused

On Thursday, police took both accused in a procession through Valmiki Nagar and nearby areas. During the procession, both men were seen apologising to the police. After completing the legal process, police produced them before the court. The court ordered that they be sent to jail.

The firing incident was captured by CCTV cameras installed in Valmiki Nagar. The footage shows both accused fleeing from the spot after allegedly opening fire. Police have seized the CCTV footage as part of the investigation.

The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the firing and the alleged old rivalry involving Sujal. The two accused, Sahil alias Bhuria and Sachin alias Ayush, are now in jail following the court’s order.
