Ujjain administration denies displacing Khade Hanuman idol, seeks expert opinion

The Ujjain district administration has issued a clarification regarding the proposed displacement of the Khade Hanuman temple idol, asserting that the religious sentiments of devotees and the safety of the idol remain its topmost priority while balancing the development work required for the Simhasth 2028 pilgrimage.

The administration stated that the issue concerning the Khade Hanuman idol is deeply connected to the faith of Ujjain residents and devotees. For the administration, the sentiments of devotees, the safety of the idol, and the religious and cultural heritage of Ujjain are paramount considerations in any decision-making process.

The district authorities have categorically denied misleading reports circulating on social media claiming that the administration has already made several attempts to displace the idol of Shri Khade Hanuman. The administration clarified that no attempt whatsoever has been made so far to displace or remove the idol using any machinery or human methods.

Addressing the concerns of all stakeholders, the administration emphasized that it fully respects the emotions and faith of all devotees and citizens regarding the matter of Khade Hanuman. No decision or step will be taken without keeping in mind the sentiments of all concerned parties, the authorities assured.

The administration has now decided that no further action for the displacement of the idol will be taken without obtaining scientific and technical opinions from experts. Experts will be called upon to examine the structural condition of the idol scientifically, as this assessment is deemed necessary before any course of action is determined.

In its statement, the district administration acknowledged that while the development work for Simhasth 2028 is essential, the religious faith of Ujjain is equally the administration's highest priority. The administration committed to finding a solution through dialogue with devotees, the saint community, and experts, ensuring that any resolution is reached with the trust and confidence of all parties involved.

The authorities reiterated that both the development projects for Simhasth 2028 and the preservation of Ujjain's faith and heritage hold equal importance, and a consensus-based solution will be worked out in consultation with devotees and experts.
