Tirupattur District Police Hosts Successful Blood Donation Camp

As part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, the Tirupattur District Police hosted a blood donation camp for police personnel and volunteers on August 15, 2026. The event was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police Akshay Anil Wakhare in the presence of senior officers, district health officials, and local residents.

Over 500 volunteers participated

According to an official press release, the camp saw participation from over 500 volunteers, reflecting strong community engagement. The blood units collected will be supplied to the Tirupattur Government Hospital blood bank for emergency requirements and surgical needs across the district.

SP Wakhare commends police personnel

SP Akshay Anil Wakhare appreciated the police personnel who donated blood and encouraged more officers to participate in such social initiatives. He noted that the police force has a responsibility not just to maintain law and order but also to serve the community through humanitarian efforts.

The event was organised with support from the District Health Department, Indian Red Cross Society local chapter, and voluntary organisations. Medical teams were present to ensure safe donation procedures and post-donation care for all participants.

Part of Independence Day community outreach

The blood donation camp was one of several community outreach programmes organised by the Tirupattur District Police as part of Independence Day celebrations. Other initiatives included a flag-hoisting ceremony, a police parade, and distribution of sweets to children in local government schools.

District officials stated that such events strengthen the bond between the police force and the community, building trust and goodwill among local residents.
