Three localities in Kunda Municipality struggle with severe waterlogging after heavy rain

Residents of three localities in Kunda Municipality, including Tilori, Aata Nagar and Faredpur, are grappling with severe waterlogging following rainfall. Continuous rain has led to water accumulation on roads and lanes across these neighborhoods.

The situation has become so severe that many roads now resemble ponds, causing significant difficulties for pedestrians and local residents in commuting. Local people say the municipal council has not made adequate and effective arrangements for drainage of rainwater.

Due to the poor condition of drains and the drainage system, rainwater remains accumulated on the roads for a long time. The waterlogging is causing problems for people in stepping out of their homes, going to the market and commuting for daily tasks.

Children, elderly people and two-wheeler riders are facing the most difficulty due to the waterlogged streets. Residents of the affected localities have demanded a permanent solution to the drainage problem from the municipal administration.

People say that the problem of waterlogging surfaces with every spell of rain, but the absence of a permanent solution forces them to face the trouble repeatedly.
